When You Hit The Wall

I received a Linkedin.com piece from Beate Chelette titled “When You Hit The Wall”.  Her thesis is “Maybe the wall you are hitting is a sign that says: this is not the way for you, find another route.”

I responded “Hitting the wall may just be a sign of burnout.  Several years ago I discovered the value of the Sabbath, not just the religious concept, but the need to get away from what we do.  I now schedule getaways on a consistent basis.  Getting away may inspire us into new directions and thinking.”

I once got a response from former NFL Referee Jim Tunney about a piece he wrote in his “Tunney Side of Sports.”  I had commented about burnout and quiting.  He spoke about “Moving On”; go in a different direction.
